How long does it take to freeze the Ri?
Responsible Ice™ will take about 24 hours to freeze (from room temp) in an average home freezer. Most of the time,The Ri's core is still frozen to an extent when you are done using it. So when you get home, place it back in the freezer right away and it should be ready for you the next morning.
How long does the Ri last in a cooler?
Responsible Ice™ will keep cooling your food and drinks for about 2 days in an 'inexpensive' cooler and many days in a higher quality cooler. Longer then an equal weight of bagged Ice, Guaranteed! The Ri will also keep ice frozen longer, if you choose to use ice with it.
How heavy is the Ri?
The Ri (Responsible Ice™) weighs 10 1/2 pounds. It has over 1 gallon of plain, natural water sealed inside.
How do you fill the Ri?
You Don't...We do. Your Ri is permanently sealed, the water stays inside. Responsible Ice™ is HEAVY DUTY!
How do you store the Ri?
Responsible Ice™ can be left in your freezer all of the time if you are not using it. We suggest that you do, as it may be necessary to use at a moment's notice. Such as a power failure that last for more than a few hours. You can take the Ri out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to keep your food fresh for a couple more days. You can take it out and store it on a shelf too. You might want to keep that great box it came in though for storage- That will keep it looking new, and ready for a long life of service!
Can I use the the Ri with Ice?
Absolutely! The Ri actually keeps ice frozen longer! Loose ice or in a bag, the Ri will keep it frozen much longer. The Ri is waterproof. Responsible Ice™ is a great companion to regular ice :-).
Is the Ri Waterproof?
Yes, Responsible Ice™ is made from 100% waterproof, Food-Safe, HDPE.
How do I clean the Ri?
The Ri can be hand washed with mild soap and water, then dried before placing in a freezer. Responsible Ice™ is also dishwasher safe, remember it is heavy though!
How many times can I re-freeze my Ri?
We guarantee Responsible Ice™ against defects in materials or workmanship! So to answer the question: hundreds to thousands of times? Use away!
Why does it take up so much room?
It has to. The Ri has the same amount of water in it as a 10 pound bag of ice, but it takes up less room. Regular ice spreads out and starts melting right away. Responsible Ice™ will not melt water all over your stuff :-).
7 Days, will it work?
Ohhh, I see...you want to go way out... Responsible Ice™ can handle that! There is a way to always have (ice cold) ice for up 7 days...here is how: Two good coolers, soft side/not or combination...but good coolers. You start with 4 Ice cold Ri's. 3 go in the 'freezer cooler'. The only thing that goes in there are the ice cold Ri's. The other cooler has the 4th Ri, it is in your food/drink cooler. When that one thaws out after a couple of days, you throw that one in the back of the truck and go to the 'freezer' for new ice. Take one out quickly, minimizing the time the "freezer cooler" is open to retain as much of that awesome cold as possible. The Ice Cold Ri's keep each other happy and ice cold in that 'freezer' cooler until you need the next one a couple of days later. Adventure on!
